DEMO IE at the Annual Marine Economics and Policy Research Symposium
On December 3rd, the Irish Demonstration Area (Demo IE) of the A-AAGORA project was presented at the Annual Marine Economics and Policy Research Symposium in Galway, Ireland. 🇮🇪 The presentation was met with great enthusiasm, particularly regarding the community engagement aspect, which was highlighted as a model for potential nationwide replication across Ireland. 🌱
The symposium gathered a diverse range of participants, including representatives from Government Departments, semi-state bodies, private companies, and the academic sector. This facilitated in-depth discussions on the future of marine economics and policy in Ireland, with a strong focus on sustainability and the blue economy. 🌊
The event also provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with A-AAGORA partners, including Wenting Chen from The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) 👩🔬, and meet Juan Lugilde Yáñez from our sister project, CLIMAREST 💧.
A-AAGORA and Demo IE were represented by Emma Verling from MaREI and Darragh O’Suilleabhain from Cork County Council, who shared valuable insights on the project’s impact and future potential.
