A-AAgora’s Participation in EurOCEAN 2023 Conference
In October A-AAgora project participated in the prestigious EurOCEAN 2023 conference, held under the Spanish Presidency in the vibrant city of Vigo on October 10-11, 2023. This high-level event, hosted at the Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos Mar de Vigo, brought together experts and thought leaders to explore the theme, “One Ocean, One Voice.”
The overarching goal of the EurOCEAN 2023 conference was to emphasize the synergies between the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters, other EU research and management initiatives, and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. This alignment of priorities seeks to foster collaboration and work with one voice towards nurturing our ocean sustainably.
The conference featured a notable guest, the Commissioner, invited by the Spanish Presidency. This initiative provided a platform for discussions, insights, and collaborations that are crucial for steering our collective efforts toward a sustainable and resilient ocean.
A-AAgora’s Contribution to EurOCEAN 2023
Our project coordinator, Ana Lillebø, participated in the Closing Session of EurOCEAN 2023 , being actively engaged in discussions focusing on key knowledge gaps for scaling up nature-based solutions. The dialogue centered on building coastal resilience, with a specific emphasis on the conservation and restoration of blue carbon ecosystems.
